Regenology have been brought in to film the £85 million extension to the Eastbourne Arndale Centre. The redevelopment will be recorded on film by two time- lapse cameras, from March this year, through to the completion of the project in 2018.
The cameras, installed on the Arndale Centre car park and Eastbourne Railway Station, will capture every moment of the scheme that will transform the town centre forever.
When work has been completed on the 170,000 sq ft scheme that is being funded by Arndale Centre owners Legal & General, the recordings will be edited to provide a short film showing the construction of an additional 22 new retail units, around 300 extra car parking spaces, seven restaurants and a nine-screen cinema.
Live footage from the cameras and monthly edited preview films can be seen on the Arndale Centre website.
Neil Crawford, Head of Retail & Leisure Development for Legal & General Property, said: “For a project of this scale, that will really change the centre of Eastbourne, the cameras will provide an invaluable recording of the transformation for generations to come.”
Construction group Kier, which is delivering the scheme, began work to divert underground services away from the development site in January and demolition work started in March, with this work now well underway and construction not far off! Make sure you check in to see the cameras live view regularly and have a watch of the monthly videos to keep up to date!
