In Summer 2021, DSM Demolition Ltd started the systemic demolition of 23 storey Goscote House as part of a £5 million demolition programme. Built in the 1970s, this landmark building was Leicester’s tallest residential building, but was declared unsound and unfit for modern housing back in 2018, when the flats were vacated. The building was pulled down carefully floor by floor, because of the closeness of the neighbouring homes and businesses. It was a long process, with each floor being swept and made clean prior to demolition in order to prevent the release of airborne waste particles. The demolition was completed in 2023, and the whole process was captured by our time-lapse cameras.
