Regenology install webcam in birdbox
In conjunction with The Learning Trust and Jubilee Primary School, Stoke Newington, Regenology have installed a concealed webcam in a bird nesting box.
The camera was installed around two months ago and it seemed for a while that no birds would move in. This all changed a few weeks ago and now there are 11 eggs being looked after.
Regenology were approached by The Learning Trust and Jubilee Primary School with the problem of allowing children at the school to study wildlife in the school grounds in a non-invasive way. Regenology engineers installed the specially adapted bird box and set up all the technology to stream images from the camera live over the Internet.
Richard Overton, Managing Director of Regenology Ltd said:
We have installed many webcams over the years, but this project has got to be the most enjoyable project we have completed so far. The children at the school are getting a great insight into the life of the birds and everyone in our office loves watching the live stream. We are looking forward to working on similar projects in the future.
The eggs are expected to hatch very soon and you can look at live images from the nest here. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
